The number of Covid-19 related deaths in Donegal has not changed since July, new figures from the CSO show.
There have been 41 coronavirus related deaths in the county since the outbreak began.
The median age of those who passed away is 85. Thirty-three people with Covid-19 passed away in Donegal in April alone.
The CSO figures, which are valid to 21st August, show that the median age of all those with Covid-19 in Donegal was 52 (from 512 cases).
Nationally, the number of people who have died from COVID-19 is below 10 for the last eight weeks. The median age of new confirmed COVID-19 cases was 30 years old for the week ending 21 August – the lowest since cases were recorded.
Health care workers continue to make up almost a third of all cases.
The HSE yesterday confirmed that there has been an increase in the number of COVID-19 positive cases in the past number of weeks in Donegal. Over the last 14 days up to Thursday 27th August, there were 25 new cases in Donegal.
Two patients with Covid-19 were recorded at Letterkenny University Hospital as of 8pm Thursday night. One patient was receiving critical care at the time the report was published.
