Concern at volume of broken glass along popular path

LOCALS have expressed concern at large amounts of broken glass and an amount of items tossed along a popular pathway in a busy residential area of Letterkenny.

Shards of glass from three vodka bottles is strewn along a route between Killylastin Heights and Windmill View.

The path is used by local residents and walkers on a regular basis.

“Not only is it dangerous, but it looks terrible,” one resident told Donegal Daily.

“Our children would go through that area a lot and the amount of broken glass lying there is disgraceful.

“There were at least three large vodka bottles shattered all over the ground. What if someone falls on it? Who is responsible?

Another added: “I regularly take my dog for a walk and use that route. It’s so bad now, I would be scared to take the dog through the path.

“The Council needs to come and clean this up. It’s a disgrace the way it has just been left like this.

“The residents in the estates have worked hard to tidy the area up and have a bit of pride.

“It’s so bad to see this and the amount of rubbish just thrown in there, everything from household waste to children’s toys, is disgraceful. Do people think they can just do this and get away with it?”
