GERARD Ward has felt ‘something different’ brewing in Glenfin the year.
In 2019, Glenfin made a real fist of a quarter-final against eventual champion Naomh Conaill.
This year, the An Gaeltacht Lár outfit have five points from their opening three games and will be back in the last eight again after Ward arched over a last-gasp free to earn a draw at Sean MacCumhaills on Saturday night.
“There is something a wee bit different this year,” Ward told Donegal Daily/Donegal Sport Hub.
“It’s good to see. If you fall apart after a goal, these teams could run you into the ground.
“There wasn’t a whole lot in the game.
“Both teams gave their all and there was night and day in the difference of the the intensity between the two games.”
The sides were level nine times in all with Ward kicking the final score with the last kick of the night.
He said: “It would have been a real sickener to lose that, but I’d say everyone is happy with the result in the end. Overall, we’re happy enough.”
