SEAN McGinley recorded a personal best at a graded meet at Finn Valley AC last night.
The Glenswilly teenager, who joined Finn Valley AC earlier this year, won the 800m at the limited meet in Stranorlar.
McGinley took victory in 1:57.00 – a new pb for the distance.
Joseph Haynes of Armagh AC (2:01.82) was second with City of Derry Spartans’ Sam Cole (2:02.25) in third.
Ahead of the National Senior Championships, Finn Valley shot put trio John Kelly, James Kelly and Gavin McLaughlin used this as a warm-up.
St Johnston native John Kelly, who has come back to competition following the Covid-19 lockdown in excellent form, won the shot put event with a 18.32m best.
Michaela Byrne of Finn Valley AC won the long jump, leaping to 5.08m
Athletes representing clubs from across Ulster as well as Dublin came to take part and welcomed the opportunity.
Finn Valley AC intend to stage another limited graded meet in early September.
