Sun, sea and golf was the perfect recipe for a holiday in Donegal for Chef Neven Maguire.
The celebrity chef enjoyed a family break away in Inishowen this week, experiencing the best of local food and fun activities.
Maguire was visiting his good friend and fellow Chef Brian Mc Dermott of the Foyle Hotel in Moville. Exploring Inishowen, the Maguires’ holiday started with a round of golf at Cooley Pitch N Putt before they got suited up for the water park at Inish Adventures, as well as Wild Ireland, Greencastle Maritime Museum and much more.
Both families dined locally at Rosatos and enjoyed the glorious sunshine this week – perfect for daily swims at both Shroove and Culdaff beaches.
“We love it here in Inishowen and are always made so welcome,” said Maguire, as he described both beaches amongst the best he’s seen in Ireland.
The popular chef this week has also announced his latest book Midweek Meals will launch in October of this year.
Chef Brian Mc Dermott, a keen Donegal ambassador, was delighted to share a slice of Donegal with a good friend: “It’s always an honour to have Neven and his family visit us but this week was special with the superb weather, a great opportunity to showcase our beautiful Inishowen.
“Neven is a real family man who enjoys the simple things in life and with his twins, wife Amelda and father in law I think we will be seeing a lot more of them in the future in this area.”

Chef Maguire isn’t the only TV personality who has been visiting in Donegal in recent weeks. TV Presenter and fashion designer Brendan Courtney enjoyed a few days in July exploring the wilds of south Donegal while staying in a yurt at Lough Mardal. One of The Happy Pear twins was also spotted in Buncrana last week and delighting in the wilderness of Glenveagh National Park.
