FINN Harps match-winner Ryan Connolly says the Donegal side need to show more self belief.
Indeed, it was a first win since the opening night of the season for Ollie Horgan’s side.
“It’s massive,” Connolly told Donegal Daily/Donegal Sport Hub.
“We haven’t played well since we came back from the break. We felt that we haven’t been at it. It wasn’t 100 per cent, but it’s much more like where we need to and want to be.
“In regards work rate, form one to eleven it was a lot better.”
There were only four minutes gone when Connolly seized on a defensive error to give Harps the lead. Harps held on for a precious win that seals their place in Wednesday’s draw for the next round.
Connolly said: “We wanted to have something to hold onto. Luckily enough, we got the early goal. We need to have a bit more belief in ourselves.
“We can do a bit better. We’ve been a bit low on confidence. We have a really good squad so we need to stick together and push on.”
