KILMACRENNAN’S Richard Kerr had a great start to the new season after it finally got going at the weekend.
Kerr, riding the Campbell Motorsport triump,h had a disappointing qualifying and started from the 6th row if the grid for Saturday’s sprint race.
Richard made steady progress throughout the race and finished in 8th position.
Race two and Richard started this time from row 4 and was in 7th position on the opening laps.
He soon got involved in a scrap with fellow Irish riders Ross Patterson and Alastair Seeley.
Patterson would eventually retire from action and Kerr got past Seeley on the penultimate lap to take a superb 5th place in the Supersport class.
Richard finds himself in 5th position in the Championship after the opening rounds as the next round takes place in Snetterton in two weeks time.
