THERE have been eight new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours in the North of Ireland.
It brings the total number of confirmed positive cases in the region to 5,938.
There have been no COVID-19-related deaths recorded by the Department of Health in the past 24 hours, which means its death toll remains at 556.
It is the 17th consecutive day that there have been no deaths from Coronavirus in the North of Ireland.
The department’s daily figures are mostly comprised of hospital deaths, where a patient had previously tested positive for the virus.
Two patients with Covid-19 are currently being treated in intensive care in a hospital here.
