A man has appeared in court charged with raping a woman in Donegal.
The 52-year-old man, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was before Buncrana District Court.
The accused is charged with rape and 25 counts of sexual assault.
Gardaí gave evidence of arrest, charge and caution.
To one charge, the accused replied: ‘I didn’t do anything at all’. He made no reply to the other charges.
The DPP has directed that the man be prosecuted on indictment in the Central Criminal Court.
The man was bailed on his own bond of €500. He is to surrender his passport, be of good behaviour and have no contact with any known witnesses in the case.
A book of evidence is to be served on the accused at the September 10 sitting of Buncrana District Court.
A publication order is in place to protect the identity of the complainant.
