Kildrum Tigers 1 Castlefin Celtic 1
After a scoreless first half at Station Road it was Castlefin who took the lead, from a free kick, Aaron O’ Hagan smashing home from inside the box. Kildrum got the chance to level on 68 minutes when Kevin Mc Hugh was brought down and he made no mistake from the resulting penalty. Kildrum missed numerous chances to go ahead in particular William Lynch hit the post with 10 minutes left on the clock. In the dying minutes Castlefin had the chance to snatch all three points when referee Liam Mc Laughlin brought play back and awarded a penalty while also sending off Kildrum keeper Daniel Clarke after a collision in the box, however Ronan Tourish pulled his penalty wide.
Bonagee United 1 Donegal Town 3
The visitors took the lead on twelve minutes when Ronan Mc Hugh beat the defender to the ball and he shot home from the edge of the box. They were two up on sixteen minutes when Oisin Roper made a great run down the right and his cross into the box was headed home by James Keegan from eight yards. The home side’s first real effort fell to Jason Ashmore on twenty-seven minutes but his strike on goal from fifteen yards was well saved by the keeper. The home side should have pulled one back on thirty-three minutes when a cross from the left by Drew Connelly was headed over from six yards by Aiden Mc Laughlin. The visitors got their third on thirty-six minutes when a long ball from Des Campbell just outside his own box beat the Bonagee defence and Ronan Mc Hugh got the ball on the right and he ran through to beat the keeper for the edge of the box. Coady Brogan and Jason Ashmore for the home side had good chances from inside the box on thirty-eight and forty minutes but their efforts went over the bar. Ashmore had a great chance again on forty-eight minutes when he headed over from a long throw in from the right. James Kegan for the visitors saw his shot on fifty-five minutes from fifteen yards go over the bar from a cross from Ben Sweeney. Lee Mc Monagle, for the home side, crossed the ball into the box on the hour but Aiden Mc Laughlin saw his header from ten yards go straight into the keeper’s arms. Mc Monagle saw his strike on sixty-five minutes from twenty-five yards turned over the bar by Enda O’ Hagen in the visiting goal. Two minutes later Ashmore saw his strike from fifteen yards well saved by the O’Hagan. The home side got their goal on seventy-two minutes when the ball was cleared out of the visitor’s box and it fell to Darec Franlionsk and his strike from thirty yards flew into the back of the net. Both sides had half chances for the remaining time but nothing to bother either keeper. Team effort by both sides. Referee: Mick Lagan.
Glencar Inn Saturday Division One
Keadue Rovers Reserves 4 Milford United Reserves 0
Keadue Reserves moved back into 2nd place in the table after this good victory over Milford at a damp Central Park on Wednesday evening. The home side started the brighter in the opening ten minutes without creating any clear chances. Owen Boyle got a shot in after eight minutes which was easily saved. Milford had a decent effort on fifteen minutes when Jason Mc Conigley’s shot was well saved by Declan Ward in the Keadue nets. On eighteen minutes Keadue took the lead when a ball played through by Shaun Burns was met on the run by Owen Boyle who, one on one with the keeper, stroked it low to the left corner of the net. A few minutes later Keadue should’ve been two up. Jack Doherty missing a good chance close in. On the half hour Jason Mc Conigley was again unlucky for Milford with a shot again saved by Declan Ward. The game was now opening-up with end to end football. Oisin Mc Dowell was through for Keadue five minutes before half time but the Milford keeper saved well. At the start of the second half the home side took control and on forty-seven minutes Owen Boyle doubled his tally, firing home from close range. After that the game became scrappy as a few substitutes were introduced. The away side still posed a threat and the Keadue defence had to be on their toes. The game was finished as a contest after eighty minutes when a ball played in by Adam Mc Caffrey was taken by Jack Doherty who flicked past the advancing keeper and on eighty-six minutes the scoring was completed, when after a foul was committed in the Milford box. Keadue captain Eugene Byrne stepped up to slot home for the fourth. Overall a good game with both teams contributing well and probably a harsh scoreline on Milford who had their chances.
A good team effort from Milford while best for Keadue were Jay Doherty, Owen Boyle and Jack Doherty.
Referee: Seimi Ferry.

Drumoghill F.C. Reserves 1 v 4 Cranford United Reserves
(No Report Submitted)
Drumkeen United Reserves 0 v 0 Ballybofey United Reserves
This Old Orchard Saturday Division Two mid-week match in Dreenan proved to be a bit of a rarity in that no goals were scored. I believe that is the first game this season that this has happened in the division. Drumkeen had been free-scoring for most of the season and Ballybofey themselves have not been too bad either. Both sides tried hard on Wednesday evening but whether it was rustiness from the long lay- off or just bad luck, neither side could get their shooting boots working on this occasion. The draw did little for Drumkeen’s title chances. Cappry Rovers and Drumkeen are now level on points but it’s advantage Cappry who have two games in hand. Drumkeen will need a favour from a couple of teams but you never know in football and there could be a few twists and turns yet. If Ballybofey can win their two remaining games they might still be in with a shout for third place depending on how other results go. Either way it will be all wrapped up by mid-August.

Voodoo Venue Cup – Quarter Finals
Donegal Town Reserves 4 v 2 Kildrum Tigers Reserves
The Saturday team progressed to the Voodoo Venue Cup semi-final after a seriously hard-fought victory over a strong Kildrum side. Kildrum bossed possession in the first half but it was a fortuitous goal that gave them a deserved lead when a Dean Murray cross flew in over Kenny in the town nets to make it 1-0 at the break. Town came out much sharper for the 2nd half with the introduction of Kerrigan and Graham up top. It wasn’t long until they were back level after Kerrigan was taken down in the box with Mulligan coolly dispatching the resulting penalty. Town looked the more dangerous after this but it was Kildrum who snatched the lead again when Murray rifled home from 25 yards giving Kenny no chance.
This would have killed off a lot of teams but Donegal dug deep and the introduction of additional fresh young legs made the difference. The equaliser arrived when Chris Gallagher broke down the right and sent the ball in for Graham to take it down and turn beautifully to shoot into the bottom corner. Extra-time was looming when Town took the lead with good link-up play between Jordan and Graham and it was the latter who delivered a pin-point ball for Kerrigan to finish. At 3-2, Kildrum threw caution to the wind and with only three minutes remaining Town broke away to make it four. Graham with a lovely ball down the right for Kerrigan to break free and when through on goal, played the ball square and unselfishly for Jordan to finish the game. A hard-fought victory for Donegal and a cup semi to look forward to now. Joe Campbell was man of the match with several other players showing well.
Cranford United Reserves 0 v 6 Keadue Rovers Reserves
A strong Keadue team made an under-strength Cranford pay in perfect conditions in Cranford Park. Keadue only took two minutes to take the lead converting from the spot after a foul in the box. Cranford started to come into the game and nearly equalised after 20 minutes when Kyle Mc Fadden hit the post but from then on Keadue were dominant. They added two quick fire goals on 30 and 35 minutes to go in at half-time three up. It was the same story in the second half as they added three more goals while Cranford had a couple chances on the break but couldn’t beat the Keadue keeper.
Arranmore United 1 v 1 Glencar Celtic
(Glencar Celtic won in Sudden-Death Penalties)
Arranmore took an early lead when Aidan Proctor reacted first to a loose ball after Blake Forker denied Gavin Mc Glanaghey’s header. Glencar threatened to equalise straight away and did so half-way through the half from a corner as Odhran Barron headed home. Chances came and went for the remainder of the match with Brian Proctor going close several times only to be denied superbly by the away keeper.
The extra-time was a tense affair with both teams looking to keep it tight and when it came to the shoot-out Glencar emerged victorious by five penalties to four.
Milford United Reserves 1 v 2 Castlefin Celtic Reserves
Castlefin advance to the semi-final of the Voodoo Venue Cup after a closely fought game. Milford started the brighter and had a Jason Mc Conigley goal ruled out for offside after 10 minutes. Five minutes later though he would not be denied after good work from Shane Mc Glade who found Mc Conigley free at the back post to put Milford one up. Castlefin gradually got back into the game and got their equaliser in the 40th minute. A speculative shot from Paddy Dooher from 30 yards caught out Milford’s stand in keeper to find the bottom corner. Castlefin took the lead on the hour mark when Lee Kennedy broke into the box to finish calmly. Milford had several good chances to force extra time but it wasn’t to be, good luck to Castlefin in the next round. Referee: Sean Ferry
Glencar Inn Saturday Division One
Strand Rovers 6 v 0 Fintown Harps AFC
Strand win the game 6-0. It took Stand nearly half an hour to break the deadlock with Matthew O’ Donnell scoring from a free-kick. Strand scored their second goal when a Daniel Ward shot was only half cleared and Matthew O’ Donnell tapped the ball into the net. Strand got their third from Aaron Ward. The goal of the match came from Matthew O’ Donnell completing his first hat-trick with a long distance shot from forty yards. Dylan Boyle scored Strand’s fifth, finishing a lovely team goal and Brendan Glackin scored the last goal for Strand.
Old Orchard Saturday Division Two
Kilmacrennan Celtic Reserves 3 v 1 Copany Rovers
The game started evenly with both teams having efforts saved by both goalkeepers. Copany went one up after 25 minutes with a very tidy finish. Kilmacrennan equalised ten minutes later through Eamon Sheridan and that’s how the half ended. Kilmacrennan made several changes in the second half with Sean Donnell and Brandon Mc Clafferty coming on and from there it was all Kilmacrennan with Eamon Sheridan scoring two more goals to complete his hat-trick.

Bonagee United 3 v 3 Kildrum Tigers
Kildrum started lively with Matty Crossan hitting the bar from a free-kick on the edge of the box after 2 minutes. Shortly after Kevin Mc Hugh dragged his effort wide of the Bonagee goal from 15 yards. Bonagee has strong appeals for a penalty when Jason Ashmore was brought down in the box by William Lynch, the Kildrum goalkeeper, but referee Dessie Mc Laughlin waved play on. The Bonagee goalkeeper John Carr then pulled off a great save on 10 minutes to deny Barry O’ Donnell. Kildrum continued to dominate proceedings and on 22 minutes Brian Breslin struck the crossbar with an effort from the edge of the box.
Kildrum finally broke the deadlock on the half hour mark when a ball was played in from the left and wasn’t dealt with, Kevin McHugh reacted fastest to score from 6 yards. Three minutes later Kildrum doubled their lead when Barry O’ Donnell’s cross was slotted home by Brian Breslin. Bonagee had a chance to pull one back just before half time but Aaron Wasson’s effort was well saved by William Lynch. Bonagee started the second half much brighter and Jason Ashmore struck the woodwork on 46 minutes. Bonagee pulled one back shortly after when a long ball from Taylor Russell wasn’t dealt with by the keeper and lee Mc Monagle capitalised to make it 2-1. Kildrum scored a 3rd on 66 minutes, Brian Breslin’s cross found Barry O’ Donnell who made no mistake from 12 yards to leave Kildrum leading 3-1. Mc Hugh for Kildrum had another chance shortly after but his effort cleared John Carr’s crossbar. Bonagee regrouped after their second half water break and got their second goal when a long ball into the box wasn’t dealt with again and Drew Connolly made it 3-2. Bonagee then introduced Eamonn Cannon and Iarla Mc Gowan on 73 minutes with Cannon making an immediate impact. A Kildrum clearance landed to Cannon in the middle of the park and his effort found the back of the net to make the scoreline 3-3. Eamonn Cannon had another effort a minute later when he was teed up by Lee Mc Monagle but this time he was denied by the crossbar. On 87 minutes Kildrum could have regained their lead but John Carr in the Bonagee goal pulled off a great save to deny Kevin Mc Hugh. With the last kick of the game Kildrum again had a chance to snatch victory but Reece Duncan’s shot was blocked down by Taylor Russell and came off the post to Bonagee’s relief. Final score 3-3. Team effort by both sides with Aaron Wasson outstanding for the home side with Barry O’ Donnell playing well for the visitors. Referee: Dessie McLaughlin.
Kilmacrennan Celtic 1 v 0 Milford United
Kilmacrennan were big favourites going into this game but the home side knew it was never going to be easy against their local rivals. On ten minutes former Milford player Terrence Shields headed home a Kevin O’Donnell cross to put the Lurgysiders one up. Kilmacrennan had a few chances but the first half ended 1-0
The second half was slow but the home side looked to go further ahead with James Doherty through on goal but Caolan Mc Gettigan was equal to his effort. After a nervy finish, it ended 1-0. Referee: Liam McLaughlin

Donegal Town 3 v 1 Cranford United
Donegal Town welcomed Cranford to the Hospital Field on a glorious Sunday. Donegal were quicker out of the blocks and were one up through Ben Sweeney after 14 minutes. James Kerrigan then had a glorious chance just before halftime after being put through by Mc Hugh but the ball went narrowly wide. Cranford to their credit never gave up but a brace from James Kerrigan saw off the visitor’s challenge.

Ballybofey United 1 v 1 Kerrykeel ’71 F.C.
Played at Dreenan in great conditions, this was an entertaining battle between two sides who were in the race for the play-off spot, this draw has put Kerrykeel firmly in the driving seat now. The first half was even enough with the visitors shading the possession and creating the majority of the chances. That said Ballybofey had a glorious chance to take the lead before the break but their effort flew over the Kerrykeel crossbar. Bernard Mc Gettigan, who was a threat with his strong runs, gave Kerrykeel the lead eight minutes into the second half. From then until the water-break Ballybofey were under the cosh and had to soak up a lot of pressure from Hughie Walsh’s men. The water helped the home side and Damien Glackin had them level on seventy two minutes when he crashed his free-kick from 25 yards into the roof of the Kerrykeel net. From then to the end it was again fairly even and neither side could find a winner. Kerrykeel ’71 will be happy with the point and look destined for a go at promotion at the end of the season.
Gweedore Celtic 2 v 0 Letterbarrow Celtic
A goal in either half helped Gweedore defeat a battling Letterbarrow side struggling at the wrong end of the table. The game was barely a minute old when Micheal Mc Kelvey saved brilliantly from Gerard Mc Brearty’s header which would have given the visitors the lead. The home team were edgy and nervous in the first ten minutes but once Liam Mc Fadden and Ciaran Mc Hugh exerted their influence in midfield they settled down and played more constructive football. Jamie Doherty and Micheal Cutliffe were a thorn in away team’s defence but they found Cathal Charlton in goals hard to break down. The first goal arrived in the thirtieth minute when Sean O’ Donnell broke clear from midfield. With the Letterbarrow defence caught square and appealing for offside O’ Donnell ran on to finish for the first goal. The second half was evenly balanced with both sides creating chances but the two ‘keepers, Charlton and Mc Kelvey were in excellent form and neither of them were likely to concede easily. Gweedore midfielder Doherty did undo the away ‘keeper with a bit of dribbling brilliance to finish a fine individual goal with twenty minutes remaining. Letterbarrow were not finished with Ward hitting the crossbar and Mc Kelvey finger tipping a long-range effort from Mc Grory over the bar. Cutliffe and Neil Doran also had late chance for the Celts who took the three important points. Best for Gweedore were Jamie Doherty, Liam Mc Fadden and Eugene Ferry. For Letterbarrow James Mc Grory, Paddy Ward and Cathal Charlton all played well. Referee: Colm Mc Conigley.
Glenea United 2 v 0 Lifford Celtic
Glenea playing against the breeze found themselves one up after six minutes. John Mc Fadden flicked on a Joe Coll kick-out to Darren Mc Geever who struck from 25 yards giving Torraigh Mc Connell no chance in the Lifford goals. Lifford could have been back on level terms in the 12th minute when they were awarded a penalty but Joe Coll saved well from Ciaran Doherty. Ten minutes later Martin Maguire played in Sean Mc Bride with a delightful ball over the top but Doherty was out quick and saved well from Mc Bride. In the 37th minute Sean Coll pinged in a peach of a free-kick to the head of Darren Mc Geever who rattled the crossbar and the rebound was volleyed over by Mc Bride. Doherty was a constant threat up front for Lifford and he came close on the stroke of half time with a good effort from distance. The second half was less eventful with both teams battling for possession and creating very few chances, Michael Barry settled the Glenea nerves ten minutes from time when he got on the end of a Darren Ferry pass to tap in from six yards. Good team performances with both teams battling hard and well refereed.

Glenree United 0 v 5 Deele Harps
It was the visitors who went back to Lifford with the three points. They started the stronger team and scored two goals in the first half through Conor Catterson in the 12th minute and then Aiden Foley scored in the 36th minute. In the second half Glenree conceded three more goals through Jordy Murphy with a header in the 54th minute then Gavin Roache who finished from a yard in the 59th minute and the final goal came in the 78th minute when Jordy hit one from 10 yards to find the bottom corner. In the closing moments Glenree finally put the away goalie into action and he made a great point blank save after an easy day at the office. Referee: Tony McNamee
