THERE IS traffic gridlock on all main arteries leading into Letterkenny this afternoon.
Vehicles are bumper-to-bumper on routes coming into the town.
Traffic chaos ensued after fuel distributor Applegreen advertised a massive price cut for one hour only. Between 3-4pm, Applegreen slashed prices to 24.7 cent per litre at all outlets – including the outlet at the Derry Road, Letterkenny.
Motorists have expressed frustration at the traffic delays on routes into town with queues on road including a stretch up Lurgybrack, out the dual carriageway and Ramelton road.
One irate driver, who contacted Donegal Daily, said: “My journey home usually only takes around five minutes. Today, even using a back road, the same journey took 45 minutes.”
