July 10, 2020

A MAN has appeared in court in Donegal on a sexual assault charge.

The 32-year-old man, who is from Northern Ireland, is charged with an alleged offence in county Donegal.

At Letterkenny District Court this week, Gardaí gave evidence of arrest, charge and caution of the man, who cannot be named for legal reasons.

When charged, the man, who came to Donegal by arrangement, replied ‘no’ to Gardaí.

Gardaí did not object to bail.

Solicitor for the accused, Mr Frank Dorrian, said that the case would ‘undoubtedly be contested’.

Judge Paul Kelly granted bail in the accused’s own bond of €250 and made a disclosure order for CCTV footage.

Judge Kelly applied a publication order to protect the identity of the claimant in the case, which was adjourned until September.
