One man has been taken to hospital after a suspected stabbing incident in the Oldtown area of Letterkenny overnight.
Garda forensics teams are on scene and the area has been sealed off.
The exact details of the attack are not known yet.
However, it is understood the incident may have been sparked by a domestic dispute at a local house.

Evidence of the attack can be seen on the street at the Oldtown.
A spokesman for the Garda Press office confirmed officers in Letterkenny have arrested a man in his early 40s in connection with an assault which occurred at a house in the Oldtown area shortly after 2am on Thursday July 2, 2020.
“Investigations are ongoing and a scene is being technically examined this Thursday morning. No further information is available,” added the spokesman.
One resident told Donegal Daily “I came down here on my way to work this morning and the Gardai were everywhere. The area is all cordoned off and nobody really knows what exactly happened.
“There are all sorts of rumours going about.”
