A MAN charged with sexual assault in County Donegal has been sent forward for trial in the Circuit Court.
The man, who is aged in his 30s, is charged with sexual assault contrary to section 2 of the Criminal Law (Rape) (Amendment) Act, 1990.
The offence is alleged to have happened in 2018.
The man, who cannot be named for legal reasons, appeared at a brief hearing at Letterkenny District Court and spoke only to answer the charge.
The DPP has directed that the accused stand trial at Letterkenny Circuit Court, the next sitting of which gets underway next month.
Judge Paul Kelly grated bail in the accused’s own bond of €1,000, with an independent surety of €1,000.
