For the past three months or so the people of Donegal have been among the many millions of people around the world who have battled with Covid-19.
Never before have our worlds been turned upside down and inside out.
Many have lost their lives and others have been through hell and back in order to beat the virus.
Children have been left with more questions than answers as they were taken from schools and forced to stay at home not able to see their friends or family members.
Thousands of others have lost their jobs while many business-owners have lost the companies they worked so bravely to build.
But there is light at the end of this dark tunnel which Donegal, Ireland and the world has found itself in.
Today will see many of our businesses across Donegal attempt to pick up the pieces and start again.
Shops will open and many services will again begin to operate, although with many different limitations which we must accept and work with.
Others like hairdressers must wait patiently but their time will come too.
Throughout this entire time, Donegal Daily, as well as our other sites Donegal Woman and Donegal Sporthub have been with the people of our county.
Each day we brought you the news of the amazing courage, generosity and spirit of the people of our towns and villages.
On occasion, we were asked by some readers why we carried sometimes negative news on occasion.
But we believe that all news is informative and our job is to inform the Donegal public about what is happening in their community.
Many may find certain news items difficult to take but our promise is that Donegal Daily will be with you every step of the way, through the good and the bad.
Each day we watched like many of you as Chief Medical Officer Tony Holohan revealed the tragic number of deaths in our country from Covid and prayed for the families left bereaved.
But we also rejoiced and gave thanks as the numbers of deaths and cases of the virus gradually came down.
Throughout this national emergency, our readership has soared and we have hopefully responded to that demand for local and national news.
We are now followed by almost one hundred thousand people who log onto Donegal Daily in their tens of thousands each day for the latest, breaking news.
And now we want to bring them the news of the next chapter of Donegal life as the people of our county emerge from our isolation.
We want to tell the stories of businesses reopening and welcoming back their customers as if they have never been away.
Yes we have all suffered and we are bruised but together we can become strong again and that starts with local people supporting local businesses.
If you want us to tell your story then please contact Don on 085 8504125 or John on 086 8238177 or email us on info@donegaldaily.com
