DONEGAL captain Michael Murphy was among a large crowd who took part in Glenswilly’s big annual clean-up.

Over 60 people helped in the annual clean-up, which has become a real community effort in recent years.

Throughout the course of the day, different groups of people came from their homes to do their bit.

Glenswilly-based Fianna Fáil county councillor Donal Kelly led the groups while Kelda Kelly aided in the organisation of the day.

County litter wardens Martin Roarty and Brendan McBride supplied the equipment.

The clean-up was organised with physical distancing measures in place and due to the ongoing Covid-19 guidelines a group photo was not possible for the 2020 clean-up.

Murphy, who has always been proud of his Glenswilly roots, took hold of a litter picker to join in the effort.
