Fast food fans flock to McDonald’s Letterkenny reopening

The Letterkenny McDonald’s branch has reopened today, much to the delight of fast food fans.

The restaurant had been closed for more than 10 weeks due to Covid-19. But today it’s back for drive-thrus only.

Hungry customers queued from 11am to get their fix, and demand is expected to be high throughout the day and this weekend.

With smaller teams and new safe working procedures, a limited menu is on offer and opening hours are reduced to 11am – 10pm.

New hygiene measures include additional screens to protect staff and customers, face coverings for staff and staff will be handwashing and cleaning surfaces even more often.

Customers are being encouraged to pay by contactless payment methods and limit their spend to €30.

Gardaí and McDonald’s staff are working to manage traffic at the Retail Park this afternoon, while a new overflow queue has been designated through the car park to keep the Pearse Road flowing as normal.
