A 5,000km fundraising venture on the Bank Holiday weekend by the Carndonagh GAA club has collected in excess of €8,000.
Traditionally, the Carndonagh club stages a fundraising hurling match, under-25s v over-25s but due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the 2020 version had to be shelved.
However, club officials instead decided to undertake a 24-hour challenge from 9am on Sunday.
The total distance covered was 5,804.52km.
All walks and runs were tracked on Strava or other exercise-monitoring apps, with images sent into the club via email and WhatsApp.
Club members from all over the world took part in the challenge, which was in aid of Motor Neuron Disease Ireland and Work Link North West.
“This was a huge challenge, and one the community really got involved in for two great charities,” the club said.
