The Echoes of the Decade Project by Donegal County Museum and Donegal County Archives is running an online history Project while Covid 19 restrictions are in place.
This project is part of the Donegal County Archives (Peace IV) funded ‘Echoes of the Decade’ project and focuses on the Decade of Centenaries (1912-23).
As a result of social distancing measures, most of us are at home and separated from loved ones.
Many of the challenges on our Facebook project focus on bringing families and generations together (virtually) and exploring the past from your own local area.
The project includes a range of topics and challenge types; from creative activities to family research, there is something for everyone.
While the project is aimed at children and young people, everyone can get involved.
The challenges are a great starting point for adults to begin family/local research and start to find out more about the centenary events of Revolutionary Ireland.
• To get involved visit the Echoes of the Decades Group Page on Facebook. https://www.facebook.com/groups/2638116699794668/
• Post your own or your child’s response to our challenges.
• Think outside the box; you could post photos, research, interviews, drawings or even 3D models. Parents are asked to take a picture of children’s responses with their phone and post it on the Echoes of the Decade Facebook Group along with their child’s first name, age, school.
• Challenges are posted every Tuesday and Thursday.
Let’s use this time to share our past. We are looking forward to seeing your stories of Donegal.
