THERE have been another nine Covid-19 related deaths confirmed in the Republic of Ireland.
The coronavirus death toll in Ireland now stands at 1,639 after the latest nine deaths were recorded.
Health officials have confirmed that 46 new cases have also been detected.
In total, there have been 24,841 confirmed cases of Covid-19 in Ireland.
Professor Philip Nolan, chair of the National Public Health Emergency Team (NPHET) Irish Epidemiological Modelling Advisory Group said: “All the indications are that the incidences of coronavirus in Ireland are stable or declining.
“There are currently 47 people with Covid-19 in intensive care units with an average admission to ICU of “one to two people per day”.
