THERE have been a further ten deaths and 426 new confirmed cases of Covid-19 in the Republic of Ireland.
The ten deaths reported today by the Department of Health bring Ireland’s death toll over 1,500. Since the outbreak, there have now been 1,506 Covid-19 related deaths.
Chief Medical Officer Dr Tony Holohan said the 426 new cases are ‘not cases that have exclusively arisen in the last 25 hours or so’.
223 of the confirmed cases reported today are historical cases which have been managed clinically but only recently notified to the HPSC.
There have been 23,827 confirmed cases in the Republic of Ireland.
