Featured Poet: Gerard Beirne
About the poet:
Gerard Beirne has published 6 books of poetry and fiction. His novel The Eskimo in the Net (set in Inishowen, Donegal, where he lived for many years in the mid-nineties) was shortlisted for the Kerry Group Irish Fiction Award. A Hennessey New Irish Writer of the Year winner, he has been shortlisted for the Danuta Gleed Literary Award and the Bord Gais Irish Book Awards. He now lives in Sligo where he instructs on the BA Writing and Literature program, IT Sligo. He is founder and editor of The Irish Literary Times website promoting Irish writing worldwide. He is a freelance editor and writing mentor.
