Donegal Daily is celebrating a month of poetry with the #WeAreThePoetsDonegal series, in association with Poetry Ireland.
Throughout April, we will share daily poetry by established writers from across the county.
This series invites you to take a moment to read, enjoy or share poetry in the lead up to Poetry Day Ireland on Thursday 30 April 2020.
Today’s featured poet is Geraldine Galligan
About the poet:
Geraldine is deputy principal of Glenswilly N.S,. where she feels privileged to have taught for almost thirty of her thirty two year teaching career.
In her spare time she loves to perform in both musicals and plays and has over thirty years of stage experience with a variety of groups.
Poetry is her other love and to date she has collaborated with three Donegal artists in a series of exhibitions merging both poetry and art. The most recent one was with Buncrana native Veronica Buchanan, entitled ‘A legacy in threads’ which became part of a wider touring exhibition throughout Ireland last year, called ‘Stay with me’.
She self-published a book of poetry called ‘Limbo’, the proceeds of which went to charity.
