These may be Ballyshannon’s quietest days, but the town was filled with welcome noise on Sunday for a touching tribute to all victims of Covid-19 and all frontline workers.
The church bells at St. Anne’s resounded through the town yesterday morning, with hauntingly beautiful hymns echoing through empty streets.
The music was organised in memory of those who have passed away from Covid-19 and in appreciation of workers who are doing a difficult but terrific job.
In normal times, Sunday mornings would be a time for the community to come together to celebrate at various services. Despite restrictions, the church bells of St Anne’s ensured that locals could unite again, while keeping apart, and listen to the music together.
