Donegal Daily is celebrating a month of poetry with the #WeAreThePoetsDonegal series, in association with Poetry Ireland.
Throughout April, we will share daily poetry by established writers from across the county.
This series invites you to take a moment to read, enjoy or share poetry in the lead up to Poetry Day Ireland on Thursday 30 April 2020.
Today’s featured poet is Mary Turley-McGrath
About the poet:
Mary Turley-McGrath has published four poetry collections: New Grass under Snow (Summer Palace Press, 2003); Forget the Lake (2014), Other Routes (2016), and After Image (2020) all from Arlen House. Her poems have appeared in recent anthologies. She was the winner of the Trócaire/Poetry Ireland and Francis Ledwidge poetry competitions, and has been shortlisted in many others, including Listowel Writers’ Week and Cuirt International Festival of Literature. She is a member of the Poetry Ireland Writers in Schools Scheme. Mary holds an M Phil.in Creative Writing from Trinity College Dublin.
