Talented young choir singers from across Donegal have found a way around cancelled rehearsals by taking the virtual approach to performing together.
Fans of the Donegal Youth Choir have been blown away by their new recording of Coldplay’s Fix You.
The young performers launched the video on Thursday in the hope of spreading some positivity during the Covid-19 crisis.
Choir Leader Sara McLaughlin commented on the inspiration for the project: “One of our choir members recently commented that “it was like a part of her life was missing”. That’s what music and being a part of this choir family means, it is part of who we are.”
Since they were unable to meet for regular rehearsals, Sara decided a great way to keep the choir alive would be to do a virtual get together. The video was a huge undertaking, with 24 performers recording clips from home. The footage was compiled with the help of Kevin Murray on music.
The video has already gathered over 2,300 views on Facebook and is set to go live on Youtube later today.
