Parking charges are no longer being enforced in Donegal due to Covid-19, it has been confirmed.
All traffic wardens in the county have been stood down since 27th March, as they are deemed to be non-essential workers.
Despite no staff working to issue parking tickets, a spokesperson from Donegal County Council has stated that there has been “no formal suspension of parking charges” in the county.
The council has not specifically confirmed that parking is free.
Road users are still expected to comply with road traffic laws and not to cause obstructions.
This includes observing loading bay rules, not parking on double yellow lines and not parking in disabled parking bays without a permit.
Donegal County Council is one of 13 local authorities to suspend the enforcement of parking charges during the pandemic.
