A young Donegal singer has been treating his grandad to personal concerts while he isolates during Covid-19.
Eighteen-year-old Danny Martin O’Donnell from Annagry is making the most of his beautiful home area as a backdrop to music sessions outside his grandfather Pat Sharkey’s house.
And Pat, while staying safe inside, gets to listen out the window to enjoy Danny’s music.
Danny recorded this performance of his own song ‘Donegal’ in the sunshine on Saturday:
Danny is a well-known singer/songwriter in his local area and has played music in many bars around the county. He started another project under the name “Danny Martin” for his original music over a year ago.
He has already festivals and gigs on the same stages as bands like Hudson Taylor, Ryan McMullan, Fallen Lights and True Tides.
“As much as I love playing cover gigs in bars, playing my original music is where my heart lies at the moment,” he said.
“This summer I hope to have a single release followed by a debut EP. I have a couple of gigs and shows lined up for the summer. One of which being Vearsaí Music Festival in Gweedore Donegal this October.”
