Donegal Daily is celebrating a month of poetry with the #WeAreThePoetsDonegal series, in association with Poetry Ireland.
Throughout April, we will share daily poetry by established writers from across the county.
This series invites you to take a moment to read, enjoy or share poetry in the lead up to Poetry Day Ireland on Thursday 30 April 2020.
Today’s featured poet is Celine McGlynn
About the poet:
Celine McGlynn lives in Stranorlar, Co Donegal, and is a founder member of the Errigal Writers, Letterkenny. Her poetry has been published in the group’s collections, Beyond the Rubicon, Brass on Bronze and 11 Ways to Kiss the Ground.
Her first poetry collection Forged in the Stars was published by Summer Palace Press in 2011. She edited the Best of William Allingham in 2003 and co-edited Sarah Leech The Ulster-Scots Poetess of Raphoe, Co Donegal in 2006. Her Irish translations are included in An tAmharc Deireannach by Colette Ní Ghallchóir 2014.
She is Editor of the Finn Valley Voice newspaper and has uncovered a wealth of local literary talent through the Arched Window arts page of the newspaper.
Also an artist, her paintings have been published in This Landscape’s Fierce Embrace – The Poetry of Francis Harvey. She is married with three children.
