A group of Buncrana pupils have a big ‘míle buíochas’ to say to their school principal after receiving a surprise postcard during the Covid-19 emergency.
Students at Gaelscoil Bhun Crannacha were delighted to get their own special messages for the Easter Holidays.
With schools closed until at least 5th May, the children and teachers have all been missing their lessons together. But Príomhoide Úna Ní Mhaoildeirg Uí Cheallaigh came up with a way to keep in touch by taking time to write them An Post postcards.
Local mother Christina Cuffe said her two children Logan and Maisie were very excited with their surprise.
“My son and daughter were over the moon as were many other children when they got it in the post.
“With all the sadness, fear and negativity at the minute with the Coronavirus I thought it was just such a lovely gesture from the school.
“As far as I am aware all of the children got a card from either Muinteoir Una or one of the teachers. Such a lovely gesture during all the uncertainty.”
