MEMBERS of the Gardai and Mulroy Coastguard joined forces today to rescue a stranded dolphin at Killahoey Beach in Donegal.

Garda Brendan O’Connor and Garda Sean Sharkey took time off their Covid-19 frontline duties to save the life of the struggling creature.

The officers were joined by members of the Mulroy Coastguard after the distressed dolphin was spotted by members of the public out walking.

The beached dolphin whale was returned from the sand on picturesque Killahoey Beach near Dunfanaghy to the sea.

“There is no such thing as a normal day in the office,” Gardaí said. “We’re all in this together.”
