Donegal TD Padraig Mac Lochlainn has shown his support for frontline health workers by sending back a pay rise of almost €9,000.
The Buncrana TD recently received a wage restoration and increase of €8,847.28.
However, the Sinn Fein member said he simply cannot accept the increase during the current Covid-19 crisis.
He said “At a time when so many people have lost their jobs and funding is needed for front line health and care services, I can’t accept a wage increase.
“I am returning the full post FEMPI pay restoration & increase (€8,847.28) to the exchequer. I am paid more than enough.”
