Donegal Daily is celebrating a month of poetry with the #WeAreThePoetsDonegal series, in association with Poetry Ireland.
Throughout April, we will share daily poetry by established writers from across the county.
This series invites you to take a moment to read, enjoy or share poetry in the lead up to Poetry Day Ireland on Thursday 30 April 2020.

About the poet:
Lorraine Carey is a poet and artist from Greencastle, Donegal. Her poetry has been widely published in anthologies, journals and online in the USA, Ireland, Britain and Australia. Publications include Orbis, ROPES, Willawaw, Prole, Poetry Ireland Review, Smithereens, Boyne Berries, The Honest Ulsterman, The Ogham Stone, Poetry Birmingham Literary Journal, Black Bough, Constellate, Epoque Press, Vine Leaves and on Poethead among others. Her art / photography has featured in Barren Magazine, Skylight 47, Olentangy Review and North West Words. Shortlisted for The Single Poem Award at Listowel Writers Week 2015, she was runner up in 2017 in Trocaire / Poetry Ireland and The Blue Nib Chapbook Competition. In 2019, she was shortlisted for the Allingham Poetry Prize and longlisted in The Poetry Society’s National Poetry Competition. Her debut collection From Doll House Windows was published in 2017 by Revival Press.
