THE Health Protection Surveillance Centre (HPSC) has confirmed a further 21 deaths in Ireland related to Covid-19.
None of the deaths announced today were in the north west with 17 in the east, two in the south and two in the west.
There have been 390 new confirmed cases of coronavirus.
The death toll in Ireland is no1 158 and there have been 4,994 confirmed cases.
“This past week has proven that the nation is working hard, together, by staying at home to flatten the curve,” Dr Tony Holohan, the Department of Health’s Chief Medical Officer, said.
On the island of Ireland, there have now been more than 6,000 (6,083) confirmed cases and 214 deaths related to the virus.
