DONEGAL Gardaí have received reports of non-compliance with public health measures that have been in place since Friday.
Gardaí have stepped up patrols across the county as they monitor compliance with the Government’s bid to curb the spread of Covid-19.

Checkpoints have been mounted and people making non-essential journeys have been ordered to return to their homes.
Gardaí in Donegal have confirmed that there have been reports made from concerned residents.
“We have received reports that there are people outside their homes on footpaths in groups chatting to neighbours and friends within their neighbourhood and also reports of children from neighbouring houses outside playing together,” An Garda Síochána said.
“We want to appeal to everyone to please stay at home. Only go out for exercise, to work if your work is essential, to care for the elderly or vulnerable, to get groceries/medicine or other essential duties.
“It is extremely hard to try and keep kids indoors and separated from other children in the neighbourhood but it is especially hard when the kids look out the window and see that there are lots of other kids outside having fun together.
“This is a hard task, a very hard task. We know that.
“This is however, a life or death matter so we urge you all to please Stay At Home!”
The extreme lockdown measures announced by An Taoiseach, Leo Varadkar, last Friday include ‘cocooning’ for the over-70s and the vulnerable. Travel to and from work is permitted only where the work is deemed ‘essential;’ while public and private gatherings of an unit are prohibited.
People are allowed to shop for food, household and medical goods and for vital family reasons, for example to care for children or for the elderly. ‘Brief individual exercise’, within 2km of a person’s own home, is allowed.
Gardaí said: “Most people are abiding by the measures that are in place and we thank you for that. By staying at home you are saving lives.”
