Gardai have launched an investigation following the discovery of a woman’s body in Ballybofey.
The body of the woman, who was in her late 50s, was found at Aisling Court just after 8pm last night.
The body was removed and a full post mortem is to be carried out on the remains of the woman.
A Garda spokesperson confirmed to Donegal Daily “At approximately 8.10pm on Sunday 29th March 2020, Gardaí were called to the scene following the discovery of the body of a female in her late 50s at a house in Ballybofey, County Donegal.
“The body has been removed to the mortuary for post-mortem which will determine the course of the investigation.”
We understand however, that foul play is not suspected at this time.
The woman, who is not originally from Co Donegal, had been living in Ballybofey for more than a decade and was well-known in the locality.
