GARDAÍ apprehended a drug-driver in Donegal in the early hours of this morning.
Units from the Letterkenny Roads Policing Unit aided Gardaí from Ballybofey and Convoy in locating the car.
Members of the public had telephoned to raise concerns.
After the vehicle was stopped by Gardaí, the driver tested positive for the presence of cocaine in a roadside drugs test.
The driver will appear at a future court sitting.
“Please do not ever drive under the influence of alcohol or drugs,” a Garda spokesperson said.
“Please stay at home and only travel if your trip is essential.
“Unfortunately, there will always be the minority who are willing to put themselves and others at risk whether that be through flouting the current public health related measures or by making poor driving decisions.
“We are out on the roads day and night and our priority is the safety and wellbeing of the community we serve.”
