STEPHEN Kenny has praised the work of the Finn Harps manager Ollie Horgan.
Kenny, the current Republic of Ireland Under-21 manager who will succeed Mick McCarthy as Irish senior manager, is a successful former League of Ireland manager.
Kenny led Dundalk’s rise to dominance having also had spells at Longford Town, Derry City, Bohemians, Shamrock Rovers and Dunfermline.
Kenny has strong links to Donegal and has a house in Fahan. Paul Hegarty, his former number 2 at Derry, is now assistant to Horgan and Kenny keeps a close eye on Harps – who picked up four points from four games until the League of Ireland action ceased.

“Finn Harps logistically, because of where they’re situated geographically and the problems the club have had, it’s a difficult club to manage,” Kenny said in a social media interview for the SSE Airtricity League.
“Ollie Horgan has done a terrific job with Paul Hegarty. When they were in the First Division, they had to go to Cobh, Limerick, on minimal resources. They have managed the resources the best they have and they have been the play-off specialists.”
Kenny has been impressed by Horgan’s transfer business with several high-profile recruits making their way to Finn Park this year.
Kenny said: “This is probably the best team they have had at Finn Harps. They have a real good team this year. They represent Donegal brilliantly.”
