An Inishowen community is backing its frontline medical staff by hosting a drive-thru collection for personal protective equipment.
The collection centre for the items for front line medical workers will take place this Friday, March 27th at Cockhill Community Hall/St. Oran’s National School, in Buncrana from 10am until 4pm.
The items being collected include disposable aprons, disposable gloves, disposable masks (partial and whole face), disposable overalls, hairnets, shoe covers, goggles, hand sanitiser, alcohol sprays and wipes (eg: Dettol).
All these items must be new and unopened.
Many businesses and households should have some of these items spare especially places that have been close including hotels, restaurants, bars, schools, hairdressers, builders suppliers and engineering companies etc.
A spokesperson said “Please, if you know anyone connected with any of these, or others, and who have access and approval from the owners, get them to bring these items to us. They may be badly needed in the days and weeks ahead.
This initiative is being carried out in conjunction with Buncrana Medical Centre, Buncrana Gardai, Fr Bradley PP and St Oran’s National School.
This is an Inishowen-wide appeal so please pass this message on, via whatever platform available, to everyone you know. Please do your best so that others can do theirs.
