A post-primary school in Strabane has confirmed a case of coronavirus Covid-19 within their school community.
The Strabane Academy – a school attended by a number of children living in east Donegal – issued a notice to parents today.
The school was due to close from today (Friday) under UK government guidelines.
Parents have been told that the school will be closed to all pupils and staff next week to allow for an enhanced deep clean.
A statement said: “The school will reopen for the children of key workers on Monday the 30th March. As stated, key worker parents should inform the school today by telephone or email of their intention to send their pupils into school.”
