A well-known financial institution has become the first to close its doors in Donegal because of the coronavirus.
The Rosses Credit Union in Dungloe shut yesterday and will not reopen until March 28th.
Staff at the outlet continue to work behind closed doors and are contactable by phone and online.
Other financial institutions who deal with the public on a daily basis could follow in their footsteps.
No directive has yet been given on the issue by the Government.
Manager of the Rosses Credit Union, Bridgid O’Donnell told Donegal Daily “We will have a skeleton staff working shifts behind closed doors but will be available if the public need help.
“It’s a tough decision but needed.”
The credit union branch closed yesterday (Sat) at 4pm.
