Wintry weather is set to return to Donegal today after a weather warning was issued solely for the county.
Met Eireann has issued a Status Yellow Snow/Ice alert for Donegal from 3pm today (Wednesday) until 8am Thursday.
There is a risk of snow during this period, as showers turn “increasingly wintry during Wednesday with a mix of hail, sleet and snow.”
Forecasters have warned that there will be a risk of icy conditions on untreated surfaces.
Some localised accumulations of snow will occur in parts of the county.
Frost will return on Wednesday night as temperatures are set to drop to -1C.
Further wintry falls are expected tomorrow, mainly on high ground.
