A number of Donegal towns are welcoming a special visitor this week as a US athlete passes through on his All-Ireland fundraising challenge.
Noah Coughlan from California reached the halfway point of his 32-day #Run4Rare around Ireland this weekend in Downings.
The 33-year-old is running around the country as part of a transcontinental mission to raise awareness of rare diseases. Having completed mammoth challenges across America in recent years, Noah is now bringing his motivation to Ireland for a great cause.
Noah has been inspired by two childhood friends battling a rare brain disease to bring awareness and rally support for the global rare disease community. At the same time, he is raising money for the BUMBLEance Children’s National Ambulance Service and encouraging people to text STAR to 50300 to donate €2 to support sick children.
The ultra runner battled the elements and Storm Jorge during his run from Letterkenny to Downings and back last weekend.
The next stages of his route will take him to Ballybofey, Donegal Town, Sligo on to Galway and he plans to finish in Dublin on 17th March.
