HUGH McFadden scored his second goal in as many games yesterday as Donegal defeated Monaghan.
McFadden scored the killer second goal for Donegal in the 2-12 to 0-8 win in Ballyshannon.
On 54 minutes, McFadden netted after a booming Shaun Patton kick-out got Donegal in behind the Monaghan press.
“I didn’t have much to do, but it gave us a real cushion,” McFadden told Donegal Daily/Donegal Sport Hub.
“It was a very important victory.
“After the disappointment of two defeats in a row, it was very important to pick up two points. Monaghan have played some fantastic football in the League and we knew this would be a big challenge.
“We came out in the second half and notched one or two scores. That kept our momentum. The start of the second half was the big period of the game.”
