GOALKEEPER Ronan McGeehin managed to play down his stunning performance as Donegal Under-20s booked a place in the Ulster final.
Donegal saw off Down 1-11 to 0-12 in Saturday’s semi-final at The Loup.
McGeehin – the shoot-out hero the previous week when Donegal defeated Monaghan – made a superb double-save to deny Dean Rice late in the game after thwarting Tim Prenter in the first half.
“I just do my job there,” McGeehin told Donegal Daily/Donegal Sport Hub.
“I just have to keep them out. It could have been lights out. I knew that myself. I knew I had to do whatever I could to keep that ball out.
“I just threw my body at it. I managed to parry the rebound away. Thank God for that. It was a very rough shot and the wind made it ten times quicker. I’m just happy to have got the hand up and make the save.”
