An investigation has been launched after a man’s body was found in a drain on the border between Ballyshannon and Belleek last night.
The remains of the man, who is understood to be in his 30s, was discovered at Cloghore at around 11pm.
It is not known at this stage how he died.
The area has been sealed off and a full investigation has been launched.
It is expected the man’s remains will be moved to Sligo General Hospital for a full post mortem today.
Gardai in Ballyshannon are investigating the incident.
A spokesperson for the Garda Press Office told Donegal Daily “The course of the investigation into the death will be determined by the outcome of a post-mortem examination. Enquiries are ongoing.”
