BONAGEE United coach Paul Higgins believes last night’s big win over Fanad United will act as a spur for a busy spell.
Bonagee had Michéal Doherty, Michael Funston, Jordan Armstrong, Jamie Lynagh, Ryan Rainey and Deano Larkin on the mark last night.
“We had a couple of disappointing defeats and the disappointing thing was that we weren’t even scoring goals,” Higgins told Donegal Daily/Donegal Sport Hub.
“We missed chances in the FAI Cup game, but today we got goals on the board to get us back up again.
“We were flat from the start against Derry. The lads still had the hangover from the week before and were feeling sorry for themselves.”
Last night’s win, though, has Bonagee back on track. Jason Gibson’s side have semi-finals still to come in the Knockalla Caravans Senior Cup and Donegal News USL League Cup, while the North West of Ulster Intermediate Cup kicks off in two weeks’ time.
Higgins said: “This will give us some confidence. We have two semi-finals coming up. We have goals in the team and we could have had more. We’ll be going every week from now ’til the end of the season.”
