FINN Harps midfielder Mark Timlin has gone under the knife as his long road to recovery begins.
TImlin ruptured an anterior cruciate ligament during Harps’ pre-season game against UCD at Belfield.
Timlin had corrective surgery on Monday in Belfast and the Buncrana man is targeting a return for the 2021 season.
“We have lost Mark for the season, he has a long road, but he is getting better as each day goes by,” Harps manager Ollie Horgan said.
“At leas now he is on the road to recovery and thankfully he is improving day-by-day.
“That was a bad day for us when he got injured and a bad day for Mark, who is a great lad as well as a damned good footballer.”
