ANDY Lee wants Jason Quigley to get a slice of the Big Apple for his next fight.
Former world champion Lee has been training Quigley since late 2019 and the pair have two fights and two wins under their new partnership.
After Quigley’s third round destruction of Fernando Marin in California on Thursday night, Lee says he wants the Ballybofey man to get a fight on America’s east coast.
Katie Taylor looks set for an April showdown in New York. While the bout has yet to be announced, it is a card very much on the radar for Quigley.
“Katie Taylor will fight in April in New York and I want Jason to be on that card,” Lee said.
Quigley has fought as a pro only three times outside of Las Vegas and California: In 2014 he beat Greg McCoy in Boston, in 2018 he defeated Daniel Rosario in Boston and in 2019 he stopped Mathias Eklund in London.
Lee said: “I met with Golden Boy and I’ve asked them to get him to the east coast. He’s an Irish fighter and that’s where he needs to be.
“It makes sense for him to be on the east. He’s got a good fan base in Los Angeles but it’s better for him to be on the east coast. There are plenty of cards on DAZN that Jason could be on.”
