Another successful year of Christmas charity craic in Ardara has raised €30,000 in vital funds for local services.
The Poor Farmers Association (P.F.A) Charity Auction took place in Teague’s Bar on Saturday 28th December.
The lots are always a surprise, and last year was no different, with sheep, nets, turf and so much more up for sale.
This year the funds raised from the PFA auction will be distributed between the Downstrands counselling services and Pieta House.
€20,000 will go directly to the Downstrands counselling services, which relies heavily on public donations to provide a vital service to the Ardara Rosbeg, Portnoo and Glenties communities.
The P.F.A. committee is delighted to be supporting their local counselling services and €10,000 will also go to Pieta House, which operates a north west centre and a national helpline.
The community of Ardara has earned great praise for their charity efforts every Christmas. To date, the famous PFA has raised an astonishing €336,000 for local causes.
